Rodent models, particularly rats and mice, play a central role in non-clinical toxicology due to their well-characterized physiology, genetic consistency, and suitability for regulatory testing. At Vivotecnia, we conduct a wide variety of GLP and non-GLP studies using rodent species in accordance with OECD and ICH guidelines.

Our rodent facilities are designed to ensure environmental control, animal welfare and scientific consistency across study phases. With high-capacity housing and enriched environments, we provide optimal conditions for reliable and reproducible data generation.

Why rodents?

Rodents are the most widely used species in regulatory toxicology because of their metabolic similarity to humans, short reproductive cycles, and the availability of historical control data. Decades of validated protocols and strong regulatory acceptance support their use.

At Vivotecnia, we maximize the scientific value of each study while minimizing the number of animals used, in line with the 3Rs principle and our commitment to ethical research.

What we offer at Vivotecnia

Species available

Wistar rats, Sprague-Dawley rats, CD-1 mice and C57BL/6 mice.

Applications

General toxicology, reproductive toxicology, genotoxicity (Ames test, micronucleus), safety pharmacology, carcinogenicity, PK/ADME and bioanalysis support.

GLP environmental

We conduct all studies under strict GLP conditions with full QA oversight and traceability.

Animal welfare and housing

Rodents are housed in barrier-controlled areas following FELASA guidelines, with sutomized enrichments and constant veterinary monitoring.

Large-scale study capacity

Our rodent units can host up to 2.500 rats and 2.500 mice simultaneously, supporting complex study designs and tight timelines.
