These studies are conducted in accordance with ICH S7A (core battery) and related regulatory guidelines, and are essential to detect undesired central effects that could compromise safety before clinical trials begin.

Comprehensive neurological and behavioral assessment

CNS studies typically include the Functional ObservationalBattery (FOB) and automated motor activity measurements. These allow evaluation of centrals alertness, neuromuscular function, sensory responses, and autonomic activity. Tests are designed in accordance with ICH and OECD 424 guidelines and may be combined with other safety pharmacology endpoints depending on the compound’s profile.
